Before installing the seal, check whether the working pressure on the journal surface is too rough and whether there are scars, especially long scars along the axial direction. If the journal surface is too rough, it is easy to damage the seal or accelerate the wear of lip 1:3 and destroy its sealing performance. If serious blunt marks are caused on the journal surface due to improper disassembly and assembly, the seal lip will not be tightly attached to the journal surface, resulting in oil leakage. In the above two cases, the seal can be overlaid and re-lathe rounded according to the specified journal size, or a new shaft can be replaced. If the journal has only metal burrs or shaft head flash, a file can be used to smooth the seal to prevent injury and seal the seal lip during installation.
Check whether the seal lip is broken, cracked or oiled. If there are any such defects, replace the seal with a new one.
When installing the skeleton seal, in order to prevent the seal lip 121 from being stretched, deformed or scratched and damaged, a special installation tool must be used. If there is no such tool, the following method can be used for installation: first, roll a layer of transparent hard plastic film (commonly known as cellophane) on the journal and even the shaft head, apply a little oil on the surface, sleeve the seal into the shaft head wrapped with plastic film, and slowly push the seal to the seal, the plastic film was then withdrawn. Note: Do not install the lip in the wrong direction. Make it face the inside where the oil is stored, and the side with trademark and specification face the outside, because the lip 1:3 can only be sealed in one direction. If the seal is installed reversibly, it will inevitably cause oil leakage and weaken or fail the sealing effect. Avoid slanting the seal or knocking the seal surface with hammer rods and other tools, otherwise it will easily cause damage to the seal.
