Storage method of high pressure seals
High-pressure seals and supports are often stored as spare parts for long periods of time, and the physical properties of most rubber materials change during storage and eventually can no longer be used, such as: too hard, too soft, cracks and cracks or other forms of surface aging. These changes are the result of a special factor or a combination of factors, such as deformation, oxygen, ozone, light, heat, humidity or oil and solvent, etc. If some simple measures are taken, the shelf life of these products can be greatly extended. The main points of storage, cleaning and maintenance of elastomer sealing elements are established in international standards.

High pressure sealParts and supports are often stored in the form of spare parts for a long period of time, and the physical properties of most rubber materials will change during storage and eventually can no longer be used, such as: too hard, too soft, cracks and cracks or other forms of surface aging.
In order to maintain the best physical and chemical properties of the component, the following rules should be observed for the storage life recommendations of elastomers of different material grades in the standard.
Heat
The ideal storage temperature is between 5°C and 25°C. Direct contact with heat sources, such as boilers and radiators, should be avoided. Avoid direct sunlight. If the temperature is lower than 5°C, the seal may be stiff. Care should be taken when picking and placing. The temperature of the seal should be returned to about 25°C before use.
Humidity
The relative humidity of the storage room should be less than 70%, and too wet or too dry should be avoided.
Light
The rubber seal should be stored away from light, especially not in the sun or under artificial lights containing ultraviolet components. The parts should be packaged independently with anti-ultraviolet packaging. It is recommended to use red or orange curtains to cover the windows of the storage room.
Radiation
In the case of electronic radiation, special protection shall be taken to avoid damage to the parts.
Oxygen and ozone
Elastomers should, if possible, be packed and stored in sealed containers, free from the influence of air. As ozone can damage elastomers, the storage space should not contain equipment that may produce ozone, such as ultraviolet lamps, high-voltage equipment, electric motors, electric spark sources or static discharges, combustion gases and organic vapours that also produce ozone under photochemical action. Therefore, these gases should not be contained in the storage room.
