Before installation, clean the installation groove. For the rubber seal, the shaft and the seal must be coated with grease or lubricating oil. The sharp-edge transition section must be chamfered or rounded, otherwise it should be covered. When pressing in the seal, be careful not to twist the seal ring. The pressing force must be applied to the outer circumference of the seal as much as possible. After installation, the seal must be concentric. The end face of the installation hole at right angle to the shaft is usually used as the contact surface; the seal may also be secured by a shoulder or spacer.

1. Pressure

The size of the pressure and the length of the pressure cycle will affect the damage of the seal (such as extrusion) to a certain extent. The greater the pressure, the greater the impact of other factors on the sealing performance, such as temperature, speed, sealing material, piston and The gap between the cylinder and the cylinder head, etc.

2. Temperature

The high temperature and low temperature of the sealing material use environment is difficult to define, because the temperature of the use environment is affected by a series of comprehensive factors, and the working temperature of the piston and the piston rod is different, so different ones need to be selected.

3. Friction

The friction between the rotating seal ring and the sealing surface is determined by many factors, such as surface roughness, surface characteristics, pressure, medium, temperature, sealing material, sealing form and movement speed.

4. Surface treatment

Experience shows that the service life of the rotating seal ring is affected by the surface characteristics of the cylinder piston and piston rod. The surface characteristics are usually defined by the value of surface roughness Ra. Ra is the arithmetic mean of the surface shape deviating from the center line. However, the surface condition The influence of the seal cannot be completely expressed by this value, because even under the same roughness, the degree of wear of the seal is still affected by the shape characteristics of the surface.

5. Corrosion

What appears is that the seal becomes soft or even dissolves, because the seal is invaded by the medium, and the material selection is wrong. If the medium contains water or solvent, please pay special attention.
